Parametric analysis can detect effects that may be missed using a standard group design with only one or two values of the independent variable. Perhaps most importantly, in contrast to what is typically measured in a group design (e.g., means, confidence intervals, etc.), optimizing treatment effects is fundamentally a question about an individual’s behavior.
